The San Diego Foundation Grant

We are excited to announce that we have been awarded two grants to continue and further our efforts in anti poaching.

The San Diego Foundation granted us $1,000 towards our anti poaching work. This grant was at the request of Chuck and Judith Wheatley, of the Wheatley Family Foundation Fund.

This is the second grant that the Wheatley family has granted GCF and we couldn’t be more thankful for their generous support!

GLAZA Grant

“For more than fifty years, the private, non-profit Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) has funded exhibits, plant and animal species conservation, capital projects, and education and community outreach programs at the Los Angeles Zoo, an international leader in the preservation of endangered species and a conservation center for the care and study of wildlife. There are currently over 61,600 GLAZA member households, the largest membership base of a cultural organization in Los Angeles, and it boasts a volunteer corps of over 700.”

The GLAZA grant application was submitted by Roxane Losey, GCF Director and Mounted Anti Poaching Unit Coordinator. Roxane wrote the grant to specifically cover the salary for our Equine anti poaching unit, project coordinator salary.

We are celebrating that GLAZA has awarded GCF $2,500 to cover the costs of our project coordinator salary.

Thank you to everyone involved in furthering our efforts for wildlife protection and conservation! Every donation, grant, and fundraiser allows us to tackle multiple crisis zones for rhino, elephant, pangolin, and giraffe. The more funds raised for us, the more time we spend dedicated on the projects.
