World Ranger Day – Pokémon Ranger Card Fest

When Trading Cards Help Protect Real Wildlife. For millions of people around the world, Pokémon was their first introduction to the natural world. Long before many of us learned about rhinos, pangolins, elephants, wolves, turtles, or birds of prey, we were collecting cards featuring creatures inspired by them. We learned about habitats, adaptations, strengths, weaknesses, evolution, and the importance of protecting unique species. For many of today's wildlife professionals, conservationists, veterinarians, and biologists, a fascination with animals began through games, books, movies, and trading cards.

More GCF-Sponsored K9 Gear and Training Support Headed to Bangladesh

More specialized conservation K9 gear, fully sponsored by the Global Conservation Force (GCF), is currently being prepared for shipment to support ongoing wildlife protection efforts in Bangladesh. This latest equipment deployment will directly support our trusted partners at Creative Conservation Alliance and their work alongside GCF Conservation K9 Clive. K9 Clive plays a critical role in the protection of some of Bangladesh’s most threatened wildlife. Trained by Scent Imprint for Dogs, Clive is a specialized conservation detection dog trained to locate endangered pangolin and tortoise species. His work supports field teams by increasing detection efficiency, strengthening monitoring efforts, and contributing to the protection of species that are highly vulnerable to poaching and illegal wildlife trafficking.

Two Weeks on the Front Lines: TECC Training Across South Africa’s Rhino Protection Units

For the past two weeks, Chris Laursen has been on the ground across South Africa, delivering advanced Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) training to front-line anti-poaching teams protecting some of the world’s most threatened rhino populations. From the Eastern Cape to the Greater Kruger landscape, these trainings brought together foot patrol rangers and K9 response units operating in some of the highest-risk environments in modern conservation. Every patrol carries risk, not only from armed poachers, but from dangerous wildlife, environmental hazards, and the physical demands of remote field work. Ensuring rangers are medically prepared to respond under pressure can mean the difference between life and death.
