GCF Australia Wildlife & Wine Ecotour 2027

November 4–17, 2027 | 14 Days / 13 Nights | Sydney & Darwin, Australia

Join Global Conservation Force for an unforgettable 14-day, 13-night Wildlife & Wine Ecotour through Australia, combining iconic wildlife, conservation, wine country, incredible food, sightseeing, and uniquely Australian experiences, all at a comfortable, leisurely pace.

This trip has been designed for travelers who want to experience Australia rather than rush through it. Each day will feature a landmark experience or destination, while still leaving time to relax, explore on your own, grab a drink, find a great local restaurant, shop, or simply enjoy where you are.

Your GCF Trip Leaders

This experience will be led from start to finish by GCF’s Mario Aldecoa and Natasha Frolander, giving you personal and professional guides traveling alongside the group throughout the entire journey. From navigating transfers and daily activities to joining you for wildlife encounters, wine days, cruises, meals, and adventures, Mario and Natasha will be there throughout the trip to help everything run smoothly and make the experience feel distinctly GCF.

It’s one of the things we love about keeping these trips small: you’re not simply joining a tour, you’ll be traveling Australia alongside members of the GCF team.

The Experience

Our adventure begins with Arrival Day in Sydney on November 4, 2027. Once you land, you’ll transfer to our hotel, settle in, recover from the journey, and get ready for the experiences ahead. From Sydney’s iconic harbor and wine country to Australia’s wildlife and the tropical landscapes of Darwin and the Northern Territory, we’ve put together a trip that showcases several very different sides of Australia.

Throughout the 14 days, you can expect:

  • Australian Museum — Explore Australia’s natural history, wildlife, culture, and biodiversity at one of the country’s most iconic museums.

  • Sydney Harbour Cruise — Take in the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, skyline, and waterfront from one of the best perspectives in the city.

  • Two Wine Country Experiences — Spend two separate days exploring Australian wine country, visiting a minimum of four wineries between the two experiences, with arranged wine tastings included.

  • Australian Wildlife Encounters — Enjoy several special wildlife experiences, including behind-the-scenes access and opportunities to meet some of Australia’s most recognizable animals, including kangaroos and koalas.

  • Conservation & Behind-the-Scenes Experiences — Go beyond the standard tourist experience with specially selected wildlife and conservation-focused visits and private experiences.

  • Darwin & Northern Territory Adventures — Head north to tropical Australia for several days of sightseeing, wildlife, culture, and mild adventure in and around Darwin.

  • Darwin River Cruise — Take to the water for another side of Australia’s Top End, cruising through the tropical river landscape while experiencing the scenery and wildlife that make the Northern Territory so unique.

  • Sunset Beach Dinner — One of our special evenings will feature an award-winning dining experience on the beach in Darwin, with seafood, steaks, sunset views, and arranged bottle service.

  • Time to Explore — Personal time is intentionally built into the itinerary. On most days, you’ll have an opportunity to venture out on your own, explore a neighborhood, find a café or restaurant, shop, relax at the hotel, or discover something that catches your attention.

Wildlife, Wine & Australia at a Different Pace

This isn’t designed to be an exhausting tour where you’re waking up before sunrise every morning and racing from one activity to the next. Our goal is one landmark experience each day, complemented by wildlife, wine, scenery, great food, and plenty of breathing room.

Some days will take us behind the scenes with Australian wildlife. Others will have us cruising Sydney Harbour, spending the day among vineyards, exploring Darwin and the Northern Territory, cruising a tropical river, or sitting on the beach with a great dinner as the sun goes down.

It’s a balance of wildlife, conservation, wine, food, culture, sightseeing, and mild adventure, with enough downtime to actually enjoy being in Australia.

November 4–17, 2027

Day 1 – November 4: Arrival in Sydney, airport transfer, hotel check-in, and time to settle in.

From there, the adventure begins.

The exact daily itinerary will be released over the coming months as we finalize reservations, private experiences, wineries, wildlife encounters, cruises, dining arrangements, accommodations, and our local partners.

This page is your first look at the bigger experience, and your invitation to secure your place.

With a deliberately limited group size, the trip is designed to remain social, comfortable, and personal while giving us access to experiences that aren’t practical with a large traditional tour group.

What’s Not Included

International airfare is not included. Guests are responsible for arranging their international flights to and from Australia in accordance with the trip’s designated arrival and departure schedule.

Tips/gratuities, travel insurance, personal purchases, and souvenirs are not included.

Not all meals are included. Meals are included only when specifically incorporated into a scheduled tour, behind-the-scenes experience, or arranged group dining experience. Guests should plan to cover their own meals during the remainder of the trip, which also gives everyone the freedom to explore Australia’s food scene on their own.

Alcohol is generally not included, with a few special exceptions. Alcohol is included during our two wine experiences for the arranged program tastings and during our special Darwin dinner for the arranged bottle service. Additional alcoholic beverages or purchases outside of those arrangements are at each guest’s own expense.
