Intro Into Anti Poaching Course

This course is not for the faint of heart and is more for the serious individuals searching to become anti poaching rangers. The course is one month long and is run in a similar format to the military bootcamp or police academy. Participants must submit an application, meet minimum fitness guidelines for the course, and be willing to travel and train in South Africa.

Mounted Anti Poaching Units Professional Development Course

Are you looking to work on hands on conservation projects while learning new skillsets? During this course, volunteers will work alongside one of our Mounted Anti Poaching Units, aiding in the daily care and training of our horses. Volunteers will learn the “ropes” on how to ride, and ride out into reserves and wildlife habitat to do fence-line patrols, wildlife camera trap surveys, and other conservation activities.

This 7 – 10 day program has the opportunity to expand the duration of time and program details with the addition of wildlife veterinary procedures and community cased conservation projects in the local community.

This course includes accommodation, wifi, food, pickup/dropoff from the local airport (Port Elizabeth), a certificate of course completion, volunteer hours sign off, and mounted anti poaching unit daily activities. Wildlife veterinary procedures and community based projects may be extra based on how many attendees join the program.

K9 Anti Poaching Unit Professional Development Program

Have you always wanted to see the wild from a different lens? Are you a dog lover and animal training enthusiast or professional? Then this program is for you!

Volunteers in this program will work side by side with professional conservation K9 trainers at the kennels and in the field. This includes learning some of the basic and advanced techniques used to help dogs learn how to become full blown patrol and detection dogs in the field of wildlife protection and conservation.

This 7 – 10 day course includes accommodation, two meals a day, pickup/drop off from the local airport (Port Elizabeth), daily training and care programs with our K9s, trips to the local wildlife reserves to work and train with our K9s, and several other conservation activities. Volunteers will received a certificate of completion after the course and can be provided with a proof of hours volunteered.
