World Ranger Day takes place annually on July 31st.  This global event not only celebrates and raises awareness for the work rangers do to protect the planet’s natural treasures and cultural heritage, it also commemorates rangers killed or injured in the line of duty.

Anti-poaching rangers work on the frontlines to protect endangered species, such as the rhino, giraffe, elephant, and pangolin. They also protect a variety of lesser-known threatened species who live within the same habitats. The wildlife they protect are often at risk of poaching in their natural habitats for their horns, tusks, or skin, which can then be sold at a high value on the black market.

How We Support Rangers

Global Conservation Force is proud to have supported over 1,000 rangers in the last 7 years with sponsored advanced training programs and patrol gear vital for their jobs. This is 100% because of your support!

From the bush in Southern, Eastern Africa, and the Congo in Central Africa to South East Asia, we’ve provided the necessary training to help rangers be more safe, efficient, and effective in their daily lives. In return, this provides stability for their families and communities. Commonly, rangers are the primary breadwinners of their families.

Our advanced programs are customized to the region’s cultures, habitat, and species-specific pressures and threats. Some of the programs we provide include advanced field first aid courses with medical supplies delivered afterwards, self-defense courses and arrest procedural training, advanced man-tracking and clandestine operations, nutrition and custom physical training courses, K9 handler certification courses and K9 handler field training and mentorship training, mounted unit ranger training for both the horses and rangers, courses teaching rangers to use common technology to aid in their jobs, and comprehensive, multi-week bootcamps.
