GLAZA Awards GCF With Second Grant To Support Mounted Anti Poaching Unit

We are honored to receive our second grant from GLAZA in support of our mounted anti poaching unit.

The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association has awarded GCF a $2,000 grant. The grant proposal was specifically submitted to cover the full time Groom position caring for the mounted anti poaching unit horses in South Africa.

Lithemba, previously providing part time care for the horses, will now be full time. He is a local villager and has become a community role model for his involvement in rhino conservation initiatives.

Lithemba hopes to continue moving forward with his involvement with a goal of becoming a ranger on the mounted unit.

GLAZA and The Los Angeles Zoo have supported the GCF mounted anti poaching unit, and our other mounted anti poaching unit efforts since the project initiation in 2017.
