We’ve seen great progress in our mounted anti poaching unit in recent months! Pictured below the team oversees a rhino veterinary procedure. This is a great step forward for training and security operations.
Just a couple weeks back the team was able to dart an animal, with a sedative, from horseback, providing the veterinary team a new way to respond to the reserves animal management needs.
We would also like to thank GLAZA for sponsoring our mounted anti poaching unit coordinator salary with the recent grant they awarded us with. The grant allowed us to cover the hire of a local community member, Lithemba, to be the caretaker for the horses.
We would like to also take this opportunity to thank our partners in this project and all of who’ve donated. You all made this a success for rhino conservation!
