Tracking for Conservation: Cheetah Collars

We’re excited to share that Global Conservation Force has sponsored two cheetah tracking collars for our trusted partners at Zululand Conservation Trust and Manyoni Private Game Reserve in South Africa.

These GPS-enabled collars are vital tools in monitoring cheetah movements across protected areas. By collecting real-time data, conservationists can better understand cheetah territory ranges, identify potential threats, manage human-wildlife conflict, and strengthen the long-term survival strategy for this vulnerable species.

Cheetahs are facing increasing pressure from habitat fragmentation, illegal wildlife trade, and conflict with humans. Effective, data-driven conservation relies on tools like tracking collars to guide informed decisions for rewilding programs, reserve management, and anti-poaching response. This important sponsorship was made possible thanks to the generosity of our 2025 SOSA Ecotour guests. Their commitment to ethical, conservation-driven travel directly supports the field teams and technology needed to protect wildlife on the frontlines.

We’re proud to continue strengthening our partnerships across the Zululand region and grateful for our community of supporters who help make this impact possible.
