Let’s Team Up and Save a Species: Becoming a Pangolin Guardian
Â
Hello and welcome to the Pangolin Guardians community!
Â
Pangolin.Africa, an organisation dedicated to the protection and preservation of the four African pangolin species, believes the most effective way to ensure their survival is to educate as many people as possible about these amazing creatures. This is why we are inviting you to join the movement and become a Pangolin Guardian.
Â
Global Conservation Force (GCF) is proudly teaming up with Pangolin.Africa to help expand public engagement, education, and awareness for pangolin conservation — empowering even more people to take action.
The Simple Path to Guardianship
Â
Becoming a Pangolin Guardian is both simple and FREE. All you need to do is complete our quick, 15-minute online course. CLICK HERE TO GET STARTED
Â
The course is divided into two essential parts:
Part One provides everything you need to know about pangolins as a species.
Part Two offers sensible advice on what steps to take if you are fortunate enough to see one in the wild.
After each section, there are simple questions designed to ensure you were paying attention. If you answer these correctly, you will be presented with your very own certificate of membership, confirming that you are officially a Pangolin Guardian.
Â
We have worked hard to make the course accessible: it is suitable for anyone over the age of eight years old, making it a wonderful activity to complete with your children or grandchildren. Furthermore, the course has already been translated into more than a dozen languages so far.
Taking On the Responsibility
Â
Being a Pangolin Guardian is a significant responsibility. Your duty is two-fold, focused on education and vigilance:
Â
Spread the Word: Help as many people as possible learn about pangolins and take the course. The more individuals who understand how amazing pangolins are, the better chance we have of protecting them and securing their future as a species.
Â
Be Super Vigilant: Guardians are asked to be vigilant about pangolins all the time — whether you’re out on safari or simply browsing social media. You must always be ready to make a difference.
Â
Vigilance in Action: A Real Rescue
Â
The vigilance of our community has already led to incredible results. Just recently, one of our Pangolin Guardians spotted a pangolin being offered for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Â
Because this Guardian was aware of the severe threat pangolins face from the illegal wildlife trade, they immediately messaged us about the post. This crucial action enabled Pangolin.Africa — working closely with partners in law enforcement — to help initiate a rescue operation. We are delighted to report that the pangolin was retrieved, rehabilitated, and released back into the wild where it belongs. What a result — and it was all made possible by a vigilant Pangolin Guardian!
Â
So, what are you waiting for? Become a Pangolin Guardian today — and together with GCF and Pangolin.Africa, let’s team up and save a species!
