From Intern Horse Groom to Jr. Field Ranger

Welcome to the Mounted Anti-Poaching Unit, Pro!

We are excited to formally announce our newest full time Mounted Anti-Poaching Unit (MAPU) Jr Field Ranger and Rider, Simakele Mlamla aka Pro.

Pro started his journey through the Global Conservation Force and Kariega Foundation community based vocational internship program. His first months as an intern included horse care and an introduction to riding, then a graduation to patrol coverage.

Starting in January, Pro was put to the full ranger test in the Annual GCF Community Selection Anti-Poaching Bootcamp. Pro passed all challenges in the Bootcamp and received his GCF Beret at the graduation ceremony. Thus, formally securing his spot on the MAPU. Please join us in congratulating Pro on his journey and successes!

The @GlobalConservationForce MAPU works on @Kariega.Game.Reserve with extended community based conservation efforts in partnership with the Kariega Foundation.

Thank you to all of our donors, funders, supporters and partners who make our ongoing efforts and mission possible! Without your donations and support, these projects cannot exist or succeed.
