Mounted Anti-Poaching Unit Upgrades, Updates, and Sponsorships!

With the amazing support from our donors, Los Angeles Zoo Conservation Grants, the Miami Zoo, and funding from our Save The Horns campaign we are riding forward!
In the last three months we’ve purchased a brand new tack shed, two custom built horse shelters for the mounted unit horses, a used truck for daily operations and needs and ordered a 4 horse trailer (currently being built) for our extended patrol needs as the protected reserve space expands. With the fulfillment of funding we have now opened up new positions on the unit!
This week we are excited to announce that we are now in the process of ordering more permanent onsite housing for our senior rangers. This frees up space for us to add more rangers to the reserve zones.
Lastly, with funds raised over the weekend. There are some big animal movements and additions coming into the protected spaces! Stay tuned for more updates!
The Global Conservation Force mounted anti-poaching unit (MAPU) works on Kariega Game Reserve with extended efforts with the Kariega Foundation programs.
